think ING., German initiative for future engineers

Launched in 1998 by the Federation of German Employers' Associations in the Metal and Electrical Engineering Industries, think ING. is Germany’s leading initiative providing extensive information on the wide topic of engineering. By offering a mixture of practical advice, interesting facts and exciting reports on people, jobs and companies, the initiative supports future engineers in finding their preferred jobs or field of study. The heart of the initiative is the information platform Latest news and current events are also announced via different social media channels, like facebook ( and Twitter ( On a regular basis, several interesting print and digital magazines (think ING. kompakt, konkret, ALL ING.) are published.

The activities of think ING. are not only directed at young people of all ages, but also at teachers and company representatives. While young people get diverse information on all aspect of engineering life, career opportunities, mentoring programmes or scholarships, teachers and representatives are provided with a wide range of free information material. think ING. supports them in encouraging students, undergraduates and graduates in pursuing careers in engineering. Moreover, think ING. promotes and supports educational project focusing on science and technology on a large scale, like Science on Stage Europe or the MINT-EC network of excellent secondary school.
